For those that know terpfan, his son, and his son's best friend, just hearing Tim Park being on the Wallace watch list reminds me of that simple baseball characteristic that many have an appreciation for what it means, yet have fully accepted.... daily ....... Perserverance.
With regards to 'nobody thought much out of HS' it is a bit on the strong side, JT.
I certainly am a nobody, yet at some time I felt the right thing to do was to sit with the boys parents and discuss the possibility of him and family to rethink becoming a recruited walk on at Terpville in Sept (he already was accepted to Maryland and paid for room!).
That improptu meeting took place at the Ice-Cream shop across the street from Quince Orchard HS in August 2004 (after the American Legion County Playoffs). I might have been the only person who knew Tim was gutting out a dead arm. His final answer: He was to attend and play at Montgy College G (and of course the Head Coach at W&M transferred to Maryland the following year). Jimmy loved that catcher! And you know what that means!
