Intimidators right-hander Daniel Hudson was named the South Atlantic League pitcher of the week for the period of April 27 to May 3. Hudson joins Greg Infante as the second Intimidators player to win the award this season.

Hudson has been dominant in his first four starts of the season, but picked up the honor thanks to one great appearance. Hudson struck out 13 Lake County hitters in seven scoreless innings in Thursday's 1-0 Intimidators win. Hudson did not factor in that decision.

Hudson is 1-2 with a 1.23 ERA in 22 innings over his first four starts.

The award may be the final hurrah for Hudson with the Intimidators. The 22-year-old right-hander was called up to High Class A Winston-Salem on Monday morning.

I'm in Winston-Salem this week, and I was able to see Dan's debut in Hi-A with the Dash.

(Actually I think his debut was last week, but it got washed out after maybe two innings, so this was the first one that went official.)

He was in complete command, yielding only one hit through 4, then was lifted after getting nipped for 2 runs in the 5th.

If he keeps that up, this won't be his last promotion this summer.
