Congrats to Daniel Marrs

Impactbaseball.com released its 2007 Virginia All State team today. Daniel Marrs RHP and son of MidloDad our fellow poster was named to the team. He was one of the few 08's to be selected. The teams were selected after input from college coaches and professional scouts in the area. You can go to the website and check it out yourself if you would like. Congratulations Daniel well deserved!

You will be hearing a lot more of him come this Spring and Summer.

He's consistently throwing 92-93. His out pitch is a great split finger FB. He was at the PG National Underclass in December and was rated very high (10). PG Crosschecker currently has him ranked the #2 2008 player in the country.

Just logging on ... WOW! Thanks for the news.

I'll offer two fun points in return.

1. When I go to the Impact site, the first thing I see is a big photo of Coach May's son. He may be too humble to mention it, so I'll return the favor to him! (BTW, good looking kid, too!)

2. Impact's Va. "Dream Team" includes 12 seniors and 3 juniors. One of the juniors, Chad O'Connor, is I believe a Dirtbags teammate of Jeff May and an early commit to UVA. The other junior is our long time friend and teammate, Austin Stadler. I know some of you guys have seen Austin first hand and know what a tough hitter, pitcher and all around player he is. In fact we had a thread going about him a while back.

Now, imagine if you will having these two guys on your high school team for both this spring and next! And we are the only high school to have two players on the Va. Impact list, much less two juniors.

Even so, don't look for us to run the table or anything. For one thing, we have to face Clover Hill senior lefty Sean Tierney, probably 2-3 times this season! He's also a "Dream Teamer" and also highly ranked by PG and BA, on his way to UVA next year.

I am so ready to watch some baseball this year! If only I could quit my job and do it full time!
