My son hung up the cleats at DBU last May, but is still absolutely thrilled to be associated with the program and to know so many guys out there on the field. What a thrilling time for the Dallas Baptist program!

If anyone is being recruited by DBU now or in the future, give serious consideration. You could not ask for better coaches to not only help you develop as a player, but as a person as well. The coaches still text my son and email me and my husband to see how he is doing. They genuinely care about every one of their players. The character they exhibit is extremely rare in college baseball circles. Don't miss out on the chance to play for them.
Yes, UTA definitely had their number. The same can't be said, however, for Rice, TCU, Oklahoma, etc. According to Warren Nolan, DBU is 8-4 against Top 50 teams this year.

DBU most definitely should be there. Nationally, they are third in OBP, 6th in SLG, 2nd in runs, 8th in doubles, 7th in HR's, 2nd in RBI's, etc. Kinda hard to argue with those numbers.
I aggree with you infield08 that DBU should be where they are. Not to sway from the subject but look at this year's Super Bowl winner. Had it not been for Desean Jackson scoring the last touchdown against The New York Football Giants, the Packers would not have even been in the playoffs!!! And they were a 6th seed and had to go on the road for 3 weeks to get to the Big Dance!!!
Cal, does not have lights, that was the first glich. DBU, should not be there. They got hot, enough, said.

Heck, they went 0-4 against UTA. UTA, did not even make their conference tournament.

DBU SHOULD BE THERE BECAUSE THEY ARE THERE. IF A TEAM MAKES IT TO THE SUPER REGIONALS, IT IS BECAUSE THAT TEAM DESERVES TO BE THERE. BESIDES THAT, THIS TEAM HAS PLAYED GOOD BALL ALL YEAR.

These numbers are not a fluke. Coach Heefner often has his team in the top 5 of these hitting categories. He is an excellent hitting coach as well as leader of young men.
Interesting that for DBU's new conference (Missouri Valley Conference) they have to play a full conference schedule next year that doesn't count for the conference standings and they are not eligible for post-season conference tournament, then at the end of the season the conference will take a vote to see if they get in??? Seems like they would be better off staying independent and continuing to schedule a competitive D1 schedule against Big 12 schools.

Put down the crack pipe.

Could not plate a run in game one, anyone who thinks that DBU is one of the top 16 teams in the country, is the one with the pipe to their lips.

Slowing push the keyboard away. Your 0-2 with the hat trick probable.

LOL KG, not confrontational. Just do not feel IMHO, that they are one of the top 16 in the country. I'm also not locally biased, for them. Heck, I don't feel that Cal deserves to be there either. But both, have earned the right.
The DBU program has come a long way, in just a few short years, removed from NAIA.
They swing the bat with the best of them, that is not where their weakness lies.
oldschool,

I don't think anyone is saying that DBU is a one of the best 16 teams in the nation. They are however, 1 of the final 16 teams still playing. They played their way into the super regionals by beating the likes of Oklahoma, TCU and Oral Roberts. That was the Regional that the NCAA Baseball committee placed them.

If they lose to Cal, then so be it. I don't think Cal is one of the 16 best teams in the country, but they played their way to where they are. Heck, their school cancelled their program and if it wasn't for alumni kicking in $9 million, this would be their swan song.

I love UTA, and I want them to be a team that we are watching in the super regionals. I've been a friend to the program and always will be. Fact is they are not playing so I will enjoy watching Ryan Behmanesh and the rest of the Mansfield gang. playing for DBU.
To my nephew Austin Elkins, congratulations on a nice year. You never complained during the tough times, the position switches, batting slump(s), injuries, etc. In my book, you never gave up.

I am amazed by your faith and dedication to the good lord and am humbled to be your uncle.

Good luck in the Cape this summer. You may want to choke up a half inch, because you are about to see some filth from 60 feet 6 inches...

Godspeed.
