I think that's what they call being a "stopper", the most valuable starter there is!

Maybe it's that pre-draft "salary drive"? Smile

A serious question, though, and maybe TPM can enlighten me. What leads coaches to change the order of their weekend starters?

I noticed that DK got moved from Saturdays to this Sunday game. UVA moved Doolittle from Fridays to Sunday. Wake Forest flipped their Sat & Sun starters this past weekend. N.C. State moved Brackman to the Sat. game. Those are just the ones I noticed right off.

What's going on?

Parity in baseball.

Lefty, righty matchups. Weather, young pitching staff. Now into 5 games a week. In DK's case he had a few bad weekend starts and was thrown back out to the wolves asap on a wed a few weeks ago and then this past tuesday and needed some rest. I also heard Leggett tell a parent it takes him 22-25 games to set starting lineup and rotation.
As you can see, these days, if your son is promised a friday start, it ain't gonna happen. Great examples of this is Alex Wilson who pitches for Winthrop and is the ace of the staff, we faced him on a midweek game, as we did Eamon Portice, the ace of High Point. I am not suggesting my son is the ace of the staff, but parity seems to be the driving force these days for changes in rotation.

DK often gets off to a slow start each year due to colder weather, but I do say most of his success is due to Coach O'Sullivan's constant tweeking of his pitchers and maturity.

Thanks everyone!

I am a bit superstitious, like CD, so gonna go ahead and close this topic!
