Thats an impressive alumni list!!!

I think congratulations should be extended to the guy that provided this opportunity to these players. I'm sure a ton of time and effort has gone into the Goodwill Series, and Bob Williams deserves some props for that.

Was that the single contributing factor of them being drafted or were they good before they attended the international event?

Each player had a drive, an obsession, patience and specific skills to thrive in the game regardless of the competition.

Several players, I would have "bet against" their ability to play in the Major Leagues. For this reason, I no longer make predictions for the player age 16-18 year old.

NOTE TO MODERATORS FROM JULIE (and to anyone else who might be interested), regarding the moderated post by "Abigail40":

I don't know which moderator deleted the post, but I received a "Content Alert" email about the post, and did some checking, as I usually do in response to Alerts.

"Abigail" was NOT a legitimate new member of our site.

"Abigail" was one of about a dozen "new members" in the past month who only made one post each, posting from IP numbers in India. Each of those single posts was NOT AN ORIGINAL post by that "new member", but was copied and pasted from various other websites. Most of the posts were unrelated to the thread they were posted in here, but shared a keyword. (In the case of Abigail's post, the matching keyword was "Congratulations".) Many of the posts also have a single line added at the bottom, containing SPAM links to commercial websites.

I have received Content Alert emails about most of these non-related posts, and have blocked the IP numbers (after making sure that no legitimate members shared the IP).

Why is this important? WHY DO OUR MODERATORS CARE about these types of posts?

Look around the Internet at un-moderated forums. Many of them become filled with post after post of SPAM, which frustrates readers when trying to follow a legitimate, interesting discussion. Soon, some of those forums become irritating, even painful to read.

The work of our volunteer moderators is probably the single biggest factor in not only keeping our site from deteriorating, but in fact making it one of the best and most popular baseball-related websites in the world.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to our moderators, and to share a little of the behind-the-scenes workings with other members.

Members and moderators, please keep clicking the Content Alert button below problem posts. (It's the little yellow triangle with an exclamation point in the middle.) Your watchfulness helps me to research threats like this, and keep a dozen SPAM posts from becoming hundreds or thousands.
