Once again Georgia has represented the USA in the LLWS and come out on top. What a great game both Ga. and Japan played today...extra innings complete with a walk-off home run. The young men were very encouraging to the young brokenhearted Japanese players and showed tremendous sportsmanship thruout the whole tournament. Way to go Georgia LL!!!

Georgia's 2nd year on top at the LLWS! Way to go, young men.

The team from Japan was the first to greet the Warner Robbins team when they first arrived at the series, so they had a bit of a connection from the beginning. Last year's team showed great sportsmanship as winner, and I expected nothing less of this team. Southern gentlemen--their mamas raised them right.
Congrats as well from the Left Coast. I was very very impressed with the wonderful compassion the Georgia players showed to their Japanese counterparts. The parents of those players from Georgia seem to have done a wonderful job with teaching their sons the proper priorities in life and their hearts must be filled with joy to see the boys respond spontaneously to the kids from Japan. That definitely made them champions in my mind.

Way to go, Georgia !!!

I noticed that too...and there may be some plausible explanation(s).

Parallax, or more accurately motion parallax (Greek: παραλλαγή (parallagé) = alteration) is the change of angular position of two stationary points relative to each other as seen by an observer, caused by the motion of an observer. Simply put, it is the apparent shift of an object against a background caused by a change in observer position. If there is no parallax between two objects then they are side by side at the exact same height.

Keep in mind that this may have been influencing this height and weight disparity as well...

Parallax error. Precise parallax measurements of distance usually have an associated error. Thus a parallax may be described as some angle ± some angle-error. However this "± angle-error" will not translate directly into a ± error for the range, except for relatively small errors. The reason for this is that an error toward a smaller angle results in a greater error in distance than an error toward a larger angle.

However an approximation of the distance error can be computed by means of the following:

where d is the distance and p is the parallax. The approximation is far more accurate for relatively small values of the parallax error when compared to the parallax.

Now with all of that said...my guess is the height and weight disparity that we witnessed after the game on the mound was more influenced by these factors...

To gain that much desired stature...

...for shedding those unwanted and unnecessary pounds.

Was more impressed by the size of their hearts. WHile being overwhelmed by the magnitude of their moment theGeorgia boys were so compassionate towards theie Japanese counterparts. I was discouraged at the beginning of the televised games by the attitude and demeanor of the US teams. Was happy to see that these special young fellows were the ones to capture the title.
