Congratulations to Coach Gilmore and the CCU Baseball Family. Gilmore has taken a small commuter-mid-major D1 University to a consistent top 25 contending program.

CCU continues to take it to the next level every year. They had 5 2008 draftees – 3 in the top 10 rounds (2 in the 5th and one in the 9th) and 2 signees drafted. They hosted a Regional for the second consecutive year (this year at home) and made it to the Super Regional for the first time in the schools history.

Well Done Coastal!

The Chants represented the Big South quite nicely. It was fun following their run and seeing how well "a player who shall not be named" hit the ball starting with the conference tournament MVP he garnered.

Absolutely! A terrific season...one of the final 16 teams. Very few can say that.

Obviously something good going on down there in Myrtle Beach!

Smokey and everyone else - thanks for your kind words. Our kids gave it everything they had and came up short to a great team. I am rooting for UNC to win it all this year. The coach, their program, and players are 100% class in addition to being immensely talented.

I also offer my congratulations. Had the pleasure of watching CC and UNCA play a three game series at Coastal in the spring (plus one game in Danville at the tourney). It was a great atmosphere and 3 good games. I thought Coastal showed a lot of poise and exhibited a lot of class in those games. They did the Big South proud in the NCAA tourney and should be very proud of their performance!

I have to agree, the road to Omaha isn't isn't and making it to Super Regionals is an accomplishment.

Congrats to Coastal.

I do have to agree with CD about UNC. I didn't pick them as winners in Omaha, but I am hoping that this year works well for them. They have the talent, they have the experience. ACC needs a champion!
