The Texas Rangers move on with a 4-3 win today against Tampa Bay.

Adrian Beltre with three solo bombs today.

Coach May has to be really proud of his boy, Matt Harrison, who had 9 K's in five innings. Matt was left off the post season roster last year and really dedicated himself to improve his mental toughness.

This could be the year of the Napoli...

I'm a big Matt Harrison fan, Coach May. Everyone would want a roster full of ball players like him. He threw a great game today.

I would also say it's about time to give Nolan Ryan and Jon Daniels their due for being one of the best front offices in the game. What they have done with the roster, the winning atmosphere, and simple bottom line results is really something special given the club's history.

Everyone said the Rangers were stupid for signing Beltre. Everyone said their success last year was Cliff Lee and would be gone this year. Everyone said their pitch staff was a joke. Nolan just smiled and said, "we'll win about 95 games and be back". The guy knows baseball. He's really put together something that looks like it will last.
I posted this on the Mental Game Forum then noticed this thread. This is a blurb from the NYT Saturday:

"BOOK IT Matt Harrison started the 2010 season in the Rangers’ rotation but lost his spot by the end of May and was left off the postseason roster. In the off-season, Harrison said, he watched highlights of the Rangers’ ride to the World Series on TV and felt deeply frustrated. The answers, he found, were right next to him.

“Those couple of books I had, they were sitting on the nightstand right beside the couch I was sitting on,” Harrison said. “I had them for a year or so and never even picked them up.”

Harrison devoured the books — “The Mental ABC’s of Pitching,” “The Mental Game of Baseball” and “The Tao of Sports” — and learned to sharpen his focus. He went 14-9 in 30 starts, won the division series clincher and will start Game 4 in Detroit on Wednesday."
