Northerncal Dad- There was a 3 way tie at 3-1 between Subia, California Rockies (LA) and Host Lafayette Generals. Lafayette won the draw and the automatic berth in the finals while Subia and Cal rockies played. Subia won 4-1 and advanced to the finals against Lafayette which they defeated 3-0.
Thanks for the info. It was a good tourny with very evenly matched teams. We lost both our games in the bottom of the 7th, but hey, "that's baseball".
AZPop-
It was an absolute joy to watch your team compete this week at St Mary's. The lefty that threw complete games on Thursday and Sunday showed true grit. Yout third baseman is a fabulous athlete. But most importantly your players played as a team and believed in one another. In today's showcase filled environment it's great to hear about a group of guys that have stayed together and believed in one another. I've had the pleasure of coaching two National Championship teams, PONY and Legion. Your team certainly reminds me of those groups of athletes. Best of luck in Farmington!!!

itsoutahere- thanks for the kind words, I will pass your comments on to the team. That 3rd baseman you liked is the true definition of a baseball player. He played last season at a local JC as a young college freshman. Somehow the D1 schools don't feel he fits their prototype requirements for a ball player. He is the classic moneyball kind of a player, I have never not seen him look outstanding over the last 4 years. I truly believe that some college coaches need to pay attention to pitchers and players that perform time in and time out and not just a one shot showcase event.
