Unless you are a 6'3" LHP that throws 90+, I think it would be a mistake to wait.
Let me ask you this, do the coaches at schools that may be appropriate for you know you? If not wouldn't it make sense to introduce yourself?
Think about it from a coaches prospective. Is it easier for him to recruit someone that he knows and is interested in his program.
Also, wouldn't you rather have the choice of school versus waiting for that one coach that may want you. Get out there, introduce yourself, let him (all the coaches) know that you want to go to school. Let him know about you as a student (kids with good grades and test scores are much easier for a coach to recruit).
This is your time to "recruit" a baseball program. If you don't do it, you may not have any choices.
Go through the process assuming that you will not be recuited, if you are great, but if you aren't you will have a choice of schools that fit you.
Remember, you will be a student before you are an athlete.
