I need opinions. My son has been presented with an opportunity to "test drive" a new product. Supposedly some of the colleges are starting to use these for their players. The contacts make the ball easier to see. They are not corrective lenses.

Is this a true "new product"? What are the opinioins on using them?

I am not sure if we should let him. Need some input please. Thank you.

If the red eye contact proves to be effective I would expect them to be banned later on. If the Nike Red Eye is allowed, the parents of pitchers will take up arms because the pitcher’s ERA’s will increase. All pitching stats will have to be noted ARE (against Red Eyes) or APE (Against Plain Eyes). In the meantime I’m sure there is someone working on a new baseball rubbing mud that will render the Nike Red eye useless.
