Ah, upstate NY in summer. Beautiful scenery and a quaint little town with a primo baseball museum...ruined by travel baseball. Yep, I said that.

I took the kid when he was young and had to miss the season due to injury.  Wanted t keep his passion for baseball.  First stop was the new yankee stadium.  Then the ride up to Cooperstown.  Had no idea dreams park existed until Wednesday and the hotel pool was full of kids.  Went back as a player.  Was a better trip without the tournament.

"Ruined by travel baseball"????  For 13 weeks 100+ 12u baseball teams come to stay and play for a week.  It was the most amazing baseball experience many baseball players will ever have.

My kids team didn't do so great in pool play, drew BOTH of the final two teams, so Wednesday morning at 8:30 am they took the field for what they thought would be their last time....then they won.  They played at 8:30am, 11:00am, 1:30pm, and then 4pm.....they ended their Cooperstown experience with a quadruple header!  The town got hundreds of dollars of my money...what about Travel Ball ruined this town?

Hey Folks.  I appreciate the responses, especially those about the STRATEGY which is what I originally asked about.  It's nice to hear about good and bad experiences, but that's not what I was looking for.  We all make our own history and experiences  and I realize they can be good and bad.   Please stay out of the weeds folks.  Thanks
