coppell junior (corrected from sr.) jacob morris returned to flower mound a calendar year due to uil ineligibility (moving from FM for athletic reasons)..

coppell wins 4-0 due to shoddy flower mound fielding, but it was coppell solid fielding, bunting and pressure that pressured FM into cracks

morris gets more than the usual razzing from about 800 at The Mound... but he's smiling and talking to catcher for his first at bat... it's walk but then Morris gets picked off first by lefty Brandon Parrent... deceptive move to first in that his move to home looks more like he's going to first...

In morris' second at bat.. he goes down on strikes..

3rd at bat grounds into fielder's choice..

a lot of pressure for a kid to return to his school first game back ..

biggest thing is that flower mound sure isn't bad but sure isn't what is has been.. FM could use a player like Morris...he's a donedeal DI kid, good size speed, body the pros might like.. if shoulder looks good and he has a big year with Tigers this summer could be a 3rd-5th rounder.. little stiff in his swing tonight but give him 100 at bats against live pitching...and then we'll see..

his pitching should really help coppell come playoffs..

This is the post that led me to believe that this poster was excited (!) about the out.

I understand the frustration associated with students moving for "athletic reasons." I live in Denton. But as an educator who works with these kids on a daily basis, I just want to temper our enthusiasn with kindness. These are kids, not paid professionals.
fullcount -- you make an excellent point but I really think people were just poking fun at the media focus. Most every post about this kid is positive in terms of his athletic ability and his baseball future. I imagine his family wishes his return to the varsity lineup had been treated as just another game. His step-dad has always been an "act like you've been there before" kinda guy.
