That is truly remarkable. Sounds like this young fellow has found another gear that may have all his coaches worried about losing him to track and field! I think the state record is 6.10 so 6.11 in baseball cleats is world class.

If I'm thinking about the same player I think he ran a 6.5 or so at the state meet this winter. Great step up!
Mitch ran a 6.29 the summer before last at the JO's in Jupiter as a 15 year old,the first time we went down. I am not sure what he ran last year when he was invited to the USA tryouts. Winter track at Cosby with Coach Still (VT star wideout and Sugar Bowl mvp) really sharpened his skills it seems.
I couldn't be happier for Mitchell & his family.

That's the tool that can't be taught.

A laser timed 6.11 is incredibly fast and it's the kind of number that could get a kid popped in the 1st round on that alone - because it's not like it's his only tool - he can hit and has actually been flashing some power as time moves on.

Going to take that kind of money to buy him out of UVA though.
