As if my last couple weeks couldnt get worse,it did today.
On the the highway this morning, peak hours,in heavy traffic construction zone, the driver in front of me decides to swurve in front of me in bumper to bumper traffic, and I had nowhere to go but forward,rear-ending him.Im extremely lucky the person behind me was able to avoid it,because had they in turn rear ended me,the car would have been smashed like a can with me in it.

Still played in the game today, but pulled myself after 5 innings because of back pains(likely tied to the wreck)

count your blessings everyday, and please never take anything for granted. It took me 16.5 years to finally realize how precious life is.

futurecatcher27,

I'm glad you are ok. I hope that nothing shows up, either....but do not hesitate to see a doctor, just in case......

Do you know what? Lots of people WAY older than you never learned to count their blessings. And take LOTS of things for granted..... You are really quite a lucky boy.

May your good luck continue. And by the way, thanks for the reminders.........

If you have pain see a ortho specialist immediately--- I took a spill back in December and shook it off as nothing---well the pain persisted until it got so bad I needed to go to emergency Monday nite---bottom line--I have a fractured lower lumbar vertibra

Thank goodness for pain killers
Futurecatcher27,...I have about all the gray hairs my stylist can handle,...& after your posting, I think I have a few more.
I am so glad you are ok,...well, you did say you are having some back pain. ( please be sure to do as others have said, and have a doctor check you out. Pain can sometimes be delayed. ) I too have a 16.5 year old son and I worry everyday when he gets in his truck. ( Cant help it, its written into my mom job description bio. )
Pleeease be careful,...I'm glad you are counting your blessings,..you are a wise young man,..and please,... for the sake of all us moms,.... could we not talk you back into driving your big wheel on the sidewalk instead? ( those were the days!)

Hope you are ok!!
( home made cookies and milk, on the way! Hey,..you're never too old!! ) Smile

One more vote for seeing the doctor. Catchers are hard guys and tend to ignore pain; if they couldn't, they wouldn't be catchers. (Insert ruptured testicle story here Wink)

It's probably just a muscle thing, but you don't want to develop a problem later and regret that you didn't give yourself the opportunity to treat early.

YOUCH!!!

Was that really necessary? I hurt.
And I'm evil enough to intentionally provoke that response from guys Wink. I've told the story here often (though most guys would tell me once was too much):

My catcher son took an exceedingly nasty foul tip off the cup, but continued to catch for a few more innings until he couldn't crouch. Then he went to LF until he couldn't stand. Then they took him to the hospital and discovered his, ahem, "problem". He had emergency surgery, and endured both the stitches being removed (don't believe that "dissolving stitches" line) and innumerable ball jokes...many from his mother (I mentioned the evil part, right?)

Now he has a metal cup.

Catchers don't easily admit pain.
Saw the doc. today

He said its perfectly normal to feel some stiffness in the back and neck after an accident.Suggested stretching very well every morning for the next month, and gave me some strong pain killers

best of all,I am still clear to play tomorow in our opening round tournament.

I think Ive bit the injury/unlucky bug this year.My thumb has been on and off,my ankle has been bruised all year after a collsion at the plate, now my back is tight.

thanks for the kind words all

ps.How stupid is the law that says give me a ticket for 120.00 because I was the last guy involved in the wreck!Give it to the guy who caused 2 cars to be wrecked
