From the site of an NAIA program in Kentucky...

"In the Fall of 2016, the (...) University Baseball team will take part in eight games that will count towards their 2017 spring season. This will be the first time in school history the baseball team will play countable games in the fall.

Two summers ago the NAIA passed the rule that baseball teams can play fall contests that count toward their spring season, helping teams get to the allowed number of 55 games on the schedule when dealing with weather in the spring."

Well, I would think that certainly makes things interesting for fall practices, roster finalization, etc.

D1 allows it.....any fall games against another D1 count against your 55 allowable spring games....but don't count on your record.  I would assume the NAIA games are the same....can't imagine that you can play 8 fall games and then start the spring with an 8-0 record

I took it to mean exactly that.  The fall games count in the spring record.
