Kill the grubs!

If there are enough insects in the turf that they draw enough wildlife to tear it up, the problem isn’t the wildlife, its not having a healthy growing environment. Out this way its skunks, possums, and raccoons that literally roll the turf off the soil. Golf courses spend millions fighting it. The only really effective way to control the problem is to make insect prevention part of the overall maintenance program so they don’t get to the point where it’s a wildlife buffet.

WHen I was young, my Grandfather, who lived in a rural area, had a nice strawberry patch. He would sit daily under an umbrella, with a glass of iced tea, and a 22 pistol...... used a wagon to gather 'em up @ end of the day.

Probably wouldn't help your situation though.... but his strawberries loved it.

Stats is right, you need to get rid of the grubs with insecticide. Contact your county extension office/agent for help if you are unfamiliar with the process or insecticide necessary for the job.

A couple of bags of Scott’s Grubex is enough to treat 10,000 sq ft.

It's an inexpensive solution compared to $125 per application from Lawn Specialist.

Shoot the crows. Or have the health department come and put down poison seed in the grass.

But ask the health department to clean them up... it's no fun having to handle 40 dead birds.
