Well, they will have to win 2 in a row. Tennessee over Ga Tech 3-2 in game one.
Hind sight is 20-20 twoseamer aint it. I just got home from the Durham Bulls game and caught the score. It will be tough for them to win two in a row but if they can win the first one Saturday they will only have to win one in a row after that. Im sitting here watching CSF trail ASU 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th. I really think it is wide open this year. I guess that kid from Tenn pitched a heck of a game today. It was 1-1 when I left in the 5th.
I'm sticking with the Huskers.

Depending of course on today’s game, it could almost be a Big 12 tourney with 3 of 8 teams in. But then again, Baylor and Texas could both get beat today and Nebraska could be the lone Big 12 representative.

Either way, with all 3 teams still in the hunt it certainly validates the competitiveness of the Big 12 this year. With that in mind, Nebraska won the Big 12 tourney and was also co-champs of the regular season proving they are a legitimate contender.

In addition, they appear to be playing their best ball of the year the past few weeks. I don’t think anyone will question their pitching and they have several hitters who are streaking at the right time. Alex Gordon automatically gives them a chance to score every few innings against anyone.

Just a few weeks ago they played Creighton at Rosenblatt in front of over 20,000 fans so the setting should not over whelm them.

I’ve also got good news to report for true college baseball fans going to Omaha. A few years back when Nebraska made it to Omaha, the place was packed with Nebraska football fans posing as baseball fans. In fact it was down right embarrassing to hear some of them pretend they know baseball. Since then, I am pleased to report that with Nebraska baseball averaging over 7,000 fans a game, many of these football fans have been converted to “Real” baseball fans.

Seriously it’s going to be a great tourney and Nebraska has as reasonable shot as any but one thing I do know is that, college baseball will come out the winner this year again.

I plan on being there for a few games this year. You can look for me there. I’ll be the one wearing red.
Oregon State is really, really good. They have spectacular team speed and they execute very, very well offensively. They are also gritty and grind. Stanford had them down 9-2 earlier this year in one game and lost and had them down 7-4 I believe in another and lost. The one concern I have is the depth of the pitching staff. Tulane will see a team that plays with intensity and is not afraid of anyone.
I would have to say Huskers, being from Lincoln of course. Joba Chamberlin was at my brothers baseball game last night. He attended Northeast High School in Lincoln and they played Lincoln Southwest(Legion Ball) my brothers team. Huskers have the best pitching staff right now and they will many years to come. Of course we lose Alex Gordon.

Sorry, I've been away.

Miss Bullwinkle and I have been working on her field hockey scholarship..We are using the same priciples for we learned here for her sport...But the East Coast is where is teams are .... we have been traveling...We are leaving for UMass on Sat, we will also check out Boston U and Harvard and so on.

July 1st is a big day for my daughter as well, so she's nervous and excited at the same time.

But Bullwinkle is not welsh out on a bet, so I will give you two weeks with your colors.

Yes, Bullwinkle Jr has been placed on a plane and will be playing this weekend....and for the next 2 months in the Hawaiian Collegiate Baseball League (HCL)

A 19 year old single guy alone in Hawaii for the Summer playing baseball.
Wow, what a tough summer assignment for Bullwinkle Jr. Wink Wish I was going with him.

Will be pulling for Oregon State, as the Coach and his pitching coach are good friends of mine. Pat Casey is a coach that every parent would want their son to play for. The best part is that about 95% of their team grew up within 100 miles of Corvallis.

Florida and Tennessee in the final best of 3...

Florida wins the national title. First of more to come for Coach Pat McMahon.

Another SEC team dazzles 'em.

I wish that were the case, but that can't happen. Florida and Tennessee are in the same bracket.

I agree about the SEC. 9 teams qualified for the NCAAs and all 9 played in their respective regional finals.

Give Texas credit for coming back from the dead twice, vs. Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Folks have underestimated Tennessee all year. They beat Florida 2 out of 3 during the season; finished 2nd in the SEC by a 1/2 game; won 5 straight in the regionals and super regionals (including a sweep of #2 national seed Georgia Tech).

Nebraska is going to be tough. Not only are they good, but they have a tremendous home field advantage.
