Actually you are doing the right thing by posting on this board. Don't know anything about him but it sounds like your son is considering playing for him. By posting here you might have someone pm you like a former parent(s) who can give you a perspective. Not saying that you can't rely on an organization giving you an unbiased perspective but it helps to also hear from a former customer. I personally think all parents should do their due diligence before commiting to any travel team which includes talking to former parents in additon to the top brass of an organization.
Don't know about his coaching skills but his instructing skills are great, especially for the younger kids. He has taught both of my kids in the past (hitting) and speaks to their level. He doesn't overload them with too many thoughts, but knows his stuff. Good character too, it seems. Good luck.
