Oh my God! I just talked to Seth and told him to call me Tuesday. He said that was pretty impossible. He leaves his room before 8am, has 3 classes, lunch, weights, tutor, bullpen, pitchers meetings, dinner, and then tutor. Gets back home after 830pm.
So I decided to take a nap.
PS he says he loves it and is enjoying accounting. I asked what he is doing for fun and he said he won the Alumni golf tournament Sunday.

Last Thursday I went up to see a soccer game with my son, hoping to get dinner before. He was at weights at 5:30am for a 6am start. Went to class 8-12. Had 30 minutes to grab lunch. Was at the field from 12:30-6:45 when he walked from the baseball field over to the soccer field to meet me. Watched the game and finally ate dinner at 10pm.
Fall is worse than Spring.
Both kids said the season felt like a vacation compared to the fall.
Sons is similar except they don't do any baseball stuff in the morning. Do weights/conditioning right after lunch and then practice/throw/hit until about 6-7 and they have not started any team practices. He is trying to do a podcast each week and it is a nightmare to schedule along with studying (last year) and a gf. Plus add in NIL and community service and serves on the all-sports board for the University and all-SEC board also. He makes me tired. And last week he was at Gameday for UT/UF game at 3 AM on Saturday, stayed for game and then drove 2 hours. Had a commitment out of town and got home last night at 11:30 PM.
Freshman son has a tougher schedule than junior son has ever had....Both have/had mid-afternoon blocked out for practice, but junior always had a 4 day school week and this year earliest class is 10a.
Freshman son has 8a classes every day, along with late classes (6p) 2x a week. Starts week off with a 6a lift. Gets Sunday off.
How does a D1 athlete have a 6 pm class 2 days a week? Most guys at D1's that I know of go at least a couple days a week until 7 or later to get ready for playing at night when they are in full scrimmage mode in the fall. That is unique. I can't imagine that working at a P5. Many of them have tutoring at 8 pm so they don't miss it for practice.
When my son was a college sophomore, he and I had lunch one day just off campus during Fall Baseball. Out of the blue, he asked, "Dad, how do 'normal' students use all the extra time they have? (He probably figured I might know something about this because I'd been a 'normal' student there almost 30 years before. 
) We have no free time because of baseball; but, without that, there'd be a huge amount of potentially wasted time to kill."
I think I mentioned something about many students having jobs to fill some of the time gap in my reply; but, I also had to admit that student-athletes had very little free time compared with their non student-athlete compatriots. I stopped just short of recalling fraternity parties and road trips.

Maybe it's a NE thing. They aren't practicing late in the day because of weather, but that type of schedule seems to be the norm in the NE.

Also for my oldest, as you start taking your major specific classes, there are more conflicts because the classes are offered less frequently depending on major. My son misses part of practice 2x a week because of this. The coach seems to be ok with this.

Normal students do have more schedule flexibility. Some have jobs. Some do volunteer work. Some study rigorously. Some train on their own. I chose to take more classes and graduate early. Spouse was an athlete. It took him 4.5 years to graduate because he reduced his credit hours some semesters to keep his coursework manageable.

Mine has a 7pm lab on Monday nights. Also has 7am classes, which I didn’t know existed.
Son's DI schedule is crazy! He too says that in-season is better than fall season. He is also an education major so between lifting, bullpens, meetings, practice, observing at high schools and classes, he doesn't have an open minute of his day. Sundays are the only days off.
Son plays C/OF in Missouri Valley Conference:
Mondays off so heavy class load (9-9:50, 12-12:50, 2-3:15, 5:30-8:30)
Lift at 7:15 Tuesday/Thursday and Sunday afternoon or evening.
Individual work Tuesday/Thursday for 1 hr prior to practices at 3:15-6:xx on T/W/T/F and weekends. Extra work in the cage whenever he is able (likes to hit a lot and does not hit as much in practice as he is catching bullpens).
Study hall minimum of 9 hours/week.
Busy kid until fall practices end late in October.
D2 schedule isn't much different than D1 for my son. Up at 5 AM for the team lift. Classes till noon. On the field for 4 to 6 hours after that. Then try and find something to eat, do school work, and get to bed because 5 AM comes quick.
My son went in basically as a sophomore for credits. Classes were very specifically scheduled to be done by 11:30 so he would have time for lunch before afternoon practices. Since COVID he had the option of taking most of his classes online which made his schedule much more manageable.
