According to D1Baseball.com Arkansas is the top ranked team in the field of 64 and they are slated to play the #4 seed in their region, Oral Roberts. Does this imply that Oral Roberts is the 64th ranked team in the field? (Or would Oral be considered the best of the 4 seeds since they are playing #1?).

probably means ORU is cheap to fly in to that regional site
Oral Robert’s is an hour away. I hate the regional format because you get the same teams playing each other too often. This will be around the fourth time in the last 8 or so years where ORU plays Arkansas in round 1. South Alabama is going to be a very strong 4 seed that someone in that part of the country will have to deal with
Oral Roberts is ranked #128 in RPI. RPI is typically how the top rankings are done. I won’t be this year with Fairfield playing only in conference and skewing RPI rankings. Oral Roberts is a geographically desirable #4 seed to Arkansas.
Got it...thanks for the info

@mattys there is definitely something to be said about this. One year heading to Corvallis to play in the #1 Overall Oregon State Pod, the Yale and Holy Cross teams boarded the same plane out of the same airport, then picked up Nebraska Cornhuskers on the way. Can't wait to see the bracket this year and see where the Ivy League team winner is placed. Oh wait, the Ivy League cancelled their second consecutive season this year.
Well, Rip, at least the Ivy League schools didn't let their respective teams have a competitive season, with the league’s eventual champion then prevented by its administration from even entering the tournament.
We know, Smoke, we know. Give it a rest, already.

Did you watch this yesterday - four hours long. I did watch.... At least your league rep hit well....

I told the Cortland coach kicking the field goal on fourth and one from the five would come back to haunt him. He should have gone for it.
Not often a team commits 6 errors and their opponent commits none and wins...

That's the first thing that caught my eye.
Son's team got #3 overall. I believe they have a tough regional with Wright State being the nation's leading scoring team in D1, Liberty has played good all year, and Duke on a winning streak and winning ACC tournament. But you have to beat them all to get to Supers. Which I think will be tough because I don't think anyone in the other regional wants to play LSU with them playing for their coach now that he was forced to retire.
Tickets are crazy already in Knoxville. They are sold out already and tickets on vivid seats posted for $400 a session. If they sell for that I will sell my seats also. I've got 8 seats so $12,800 would be nice right now.
PF,
Just a heads up. People are making reservations in Omaha as I post.
We drove to Omaha from Clemson. Took two days taking our time and we had a blast.
I found it interesting that ODU is a #1 seed and South Carolina is #2 seed and South Carolina is the regional host. It just goes to show you the NCAA is all about the $$ Benjamins $$ !! Really looking forward to this years tournament and good luck to everybody who has a son or friend in the tourney!
PS..UVA snuck in as a #3 seed and Jacksonville is a #4 seed.

Well TPM honk as you go past. I am on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River as u cross from Illinois into IOWA.
Omaha is a huge blast!
And we are half way through the state. Stop here for lunch!!
One of the best things we did during the travel team days taking one day to go to Omaha and watch games. Although we rode on an un-airconditioned school bus with the boys and the scotcheroos never made it west of Winterset, it was a great team experience for the kids and the parents. And I think inspired the kids to dream a little.

My son's friend plays for Wright State, he was saying tickets were gone right away. He also said they are looking at adding seats so more people can go to the games, not sure if that is true. Should be a great regional, I know Wright State played them tough 2019. I am trying to get "permission" to go down with him and watch Friday.

ODU has an outstanding team this year, but they didn't even put in for a NCAA regional bid. I think they have a requirement to have a certain level of facilities. CUSA teams have hosted before, and one is hosting this year.

Also schools have to place a bid in for hosting, which includes a guarantee for attendance.
