D2 Newcomer of the Year...need your votes!

Very proud of my former player Hunter Shepherd! Hunter played for me the last three years and is a top notch guy on top of being a great two way player.

Hunter was recently named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year!

He is now one of three finalists for D2 National newcomer of the year as a pitcher. As a freshman Hunter is 8-0 on the mound for Catawba College, the #4 seed in Southeast Region of the D2 playoffs. The Newcomer of the Year is vote based and he could use your help.

Will be interesting to see if good pitching can stop good hitting. Catawba has a ridiculously good offense. Leadoff man has 17 bombs, catcher has about the same and they can just flat mash throughout the lineup. Pitching is ok but not to the level of their offense. Will be fun to watch.

It is a loaded regional. My son's team Belmont Abbey finished in the top 25 and didn't make the regional. There is only one team in that regional I would be shocked if they won it. It will be fun to watch. Good luck

Same here with regards to teams...I watched th game where Belmont Abbey beat Catawba early in the year. Belmont Abbey had a great offense too.
