Do all D2 schools have the same number of scholarships for baseball? A coach told my son that their school only had 5 scholarships. Could that be true?

Yes, every program is different. Many teams raise their own funds to provide additional scholarship dollars.
jjinmo, floridafan is correct. Div. II schools are allowed to provide up to 9 scholarships (compared to the Div. I limit of 11.7). However, many programs don't have an adequate budget to be fully-funded, so they may have a lower limit that is determined by the school, or they may be in a conference that has a limit lower than 9 for all schools in the conference.
