The D-BAT 18U team is a solid team. They run ruled the Patriot 17u team tonight with a outstanding performance by their college pitcher on the mound. He has just completed his freshman yr in college and is transferring I believe to Navarro.(may be wrong) I wonder if Ken has any comments on what the feelings of his pitcher is (ie are the college hitters more of a challenge than these 17yr old juniors in high school?) Just wondering what the advantages are for a college pitcher to come back and pitch against high school kids
HH60, saw most of the game tonight as your Patriots lost 18-2
and I recall the score being 18-0 going into the bottom of the fifth. Matthews pitching was absolutely phenomenal to account for your pitching staff giving up eighteen runs! Maybe Ken should have taken it easy on ya'll and thrown one of his catchers - then it would have been a bit closer like, say, 18-8.
Understandably, nobody likes taking an embarassing arse kicking like that but face it - it wouldn't have mattered if it was Nolan Ryan or One-Armed Charlie on the hill for DBAT tonight..... your team got smoked.
And by the way, DBAT won the second game of the doubleheader 21-0 and pitched Matt Sulentic from Hillcrest. Was it unfair of Ken to throw a 17 year-old DISD outfielder at that team?
