Very nice website. Well done. Good information. Facilities are awesome and an endorsement from Coach Murphy is very nice.

How do the videos on the website help in recruitment? Are you going to be marketing the site to colleges coaches? What benefits do you think your program has over a Perfect Game or others out there? Thanks in advance and good luck with your business.
Here are some answers to BIGHIT15's questions about our combine and player development plan.

Question: How do the videos on the website help in recruitment?

SPORTSTV Answer:

1. EXPOSURE - The videos are intended to allow players to publish their combine performance so that college coaches, professional scouts and more can access the video on demand via the internet anytime anywhere.

2. PROMOTION - Each player or parent will now have the opportunity to cost effectively market themselves or their kids to target college coaches, scouts, etc..and reference www.thesportstv.com for them to access their performance video, interview, stats from the combine and professional evaluation and more.

3. DEMAND FOR VIDEO FROM RECRUITERS - Scouts and coaches are seeking as much verified information, statistics and VIDEO as possible to help make the best recruiting decisions possible. They are limited with time and money for recruiting and travel. VIDEO becomes arguably one of the most objective tools for coaches and scouts to formulate a judgement on a player. We focus on combining both objective information (60 time, MPH, Catcher's pop time, Performance Video) with an industry supported evaluation process including evaluations on players pitching, hitting, hitting for power, fielding, arm and intangibles. We also interview each player and ask them questions regarding their sports motivation, education / grades and their interest in collge and professional sports.

Example 1: Their a numerous college on the east coast that typically utilize only two showcases to do their recruiting (Area Codes and the Team One Showcase in Jupiter) and that's if they have the budget. Their are so many good players around the country that need to get better exposure to all the potential college and professional opportunities that exist. If more coaches and scouts had access to video, stats and evaluations it would help them out immensely.

Example 2: Our staff has been to numerous large showcases over the last couple years and have noticed many of same things. How is player's performance at a showcase being exposed to an entire professional organization or college staff? Answer: typically on paper by a coach / scout who is looking at hundreds of players at the same event. Problem is so much information can get lost in translation. Furthermore the head coach or scouting supervisor / director doesn't get a true and accurate feel for the player's capabilities with an evaluation on paper. Quality video becomes a great tool to showcase an athlete's skills accurately.

QUESTION: Are you going to be marketing the site to colleges coaches?

SPORTSTV ANSWER:
YES, VERY MUCH. We begin our grassroots marketing campaign this summer by talking with college coaches, scouts, scouting directors and agents at over 5 different prominent baseball showcases. The SPORTSTV Combine staff has over 50 years of combined professional and college level baseball experience and maintains very strong personal relationships with numerous college coaches and professional scouts, front office personnel and players.

The launch of combine in Dallas has kicked off our official marketing program. The press release below is just one of many to build awareness of our company plans and help drive traffic and build our community of users.

QUESTION: What benefits do you think your program has over a Perfect Game or others out there?

ANSWER: We are here to focus on what our program brings to the table and we intend on letting the sports community decide what programs provides them with the most value.

We believe our program offers amateur athletes a high impact recruiting & performance testing event with professional video and an advanced website (www.thesportstv.com) for athletes, scouts, coaches, agents, fans and more to access and benefit from sports recruiting, sports instruction and sports news media via the internet anytime, anywhere.

BENEFITS: The power of the SPORTSTV combine, website and baseball relationships that we maintain is the potential impact it could make on HS players exposure by utilizing the following benefits:

* Professional video
* Professional staff
* Comprehensive evaluation
* Performance testing (60, catcher pop time, radar pitchers, etc.)
* Cost-effective solution to maximize exposure
* Online video capabilities & DVD profiles
* Advanced website to publish a player’s performance

I hope this answers your questions thoroughly. Please feel free to ask more and visit our site as well www.thesportstv.com for more info.

Parents, coaches, players are welcome to attend the event at Dr Pepper ballpark in Frisco on Oct. 22nd.

In response to DallasBaseballWeb questions.

Question: Will college and/or pro scouts actually be in attendance or is this strictly set up to videotape the players?

Answer: TARGET ATTENDEES: We are aggressively marketing the event to professional scouts and college coaches in the greater Dallas area. We have existing contacts with the Texas / Oklahoma Professional Scouting Association (Includes the professional scouts in the Texas and Oklahoma area for most professional teams) as far as colleges are going we have contacts from TCU, Dallas Baptist, Univ Texas Arlington and junior colleges in the area.

I am sending an advanced list out by Wednesday to college coaches (TCU, UTA, Dallas Baptist and area JC’s) and professional scouts that we have talked to in the Dallas area. We have gotten some confirmations from some top players in the area regarding who will be attending our event and I'll plan on posting that list this week if people would like to see it.

The value of professional sports video is incredible because it will allow players the opportunity to publish their combine performance on our webisite WWW.THESPORTSTV.COM as well as get DVD copies of their combine performance, stats, and evaluation for personal distribution to coaches, scouts, etc...
It also allows coaches and scouts an ability to access a players information and performance ON DEMAND via the internet and spread the word on a propsect through their program or organization.
QUESTION: Also, is this inviation only or is open to all players in the target age group?

ANSWER: Freshman through Seniors in HS.

The additional benefits of participating in this year’s combine are the discounted cost, the opportunity to participate this year and at next years Dallas combine and for the players who graduate in ’08, ’09 and ’10 it provides additional exposure to professional scouts and college coaches before their senior year.

We are focused on providing 14 – 18 year old baseball players an opportunity to showcase their skills and have the best opportunity to maximize their exposure to college coaches and professional scouts at the event and via our website. Our goal is to provide a high impact and cost effective way for players to get the exposure they desire. We will be professionally video taping each players performance at the combine event. Our combine staff will consist of former and current professional level players and area coaches.

We are familiar with Baseball Factory and few other services that exist. I believe that we have put together a similar but different offering that other services.

Our goal is to make it more cost effective, the highest level of impact for the player and a regional event that makes it even more affordable for area players to attend without having to pay the costs of significant travel.

The video production component is also something that I believe is large benefit to our events. We strive to provide the type of video that coaches and scouts are seeking by making sure we get footage from appropriate technical angles.

Performance testing: It is necessary to capture objective performance information from player's performances that way scouts and coaches can reference a player's capabilities versus their own evaluation / performance criteria metrics.

I hope this helps answer your questions. I am going to try to keep my answers shorter since I got some heat for being redundant in another discussion on this site.

Feel free to contact me directly via email or phone.

Players, coaches and parents,

Sorry I have been busy planning the event. In response to a few questions I have passed along this email that went out to some players today.

We are less then 24 Hours away!

I wanted to make it clear that players are available to REGISTER the day of the SPORSTV Baseball Combine on Sunday at Dr Pepper ballpark in Frisco.

I have confirmed that former Major Leaguer Steve Karsay (NY Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers) is going to be at the event scouting pitchers as well as the Kansas City Royals scout (Phil Hutman), Pittsburgh Pirates scout (Terry Holbrook) and the LA Angels scout is going to be there on Sunday.

Combine staff will include: Steve Karsay (MLB Pitcher - NY Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers), Thomas Diamond (Texas Rangers Pitching Prospect – 1st Round Draft Pick - 2003), Steve Rowe (AA Frisco RoughRider – Pitcher), Jeremy Ward (2nd Round Pick 1999 – Professional Player) and Michael Drennon (Frozen Ropes – Rockwall).

We believe it is going to be a great first event for our company in Dallas and a great way to establish support for more events next summer and fall that would include a combine and a tournament.

You can also still register online until MIDNIGHT tonight if that is more convenient.

SPORTSTV Combine Report -

I invite players and parents that attended our combine on Sunday to please provide feedback on the event.

The first official SPORTSTV Baseball Combine went really well in Dallas on Sunday, 22 players attended with only 2 ½ weeks to market the event to area players, coaches and scouts.

The SPORTSTV Combine staff felt like we had a great event. The field was in immaculate shape and weather was almost as good as it gets for late October in Dallas. We shipped in 144 brand new baseballs so each player was performing on the best possible surface with the best equipment.

The turnout from college coaches and scouts was low for a couple of reasons. Sunday was a very difficult day because most pro scouts had to be in Austin for the Univ of Texas' scout day or in Lubbock for a large JC Showcase. Many of the major area colleges also had to have representation at the Lubbock showcase. We will plan our event on a better weekend next summer / fall.

Our goal was to prove that the event is viable in Dallas this year and look at really planning a top notch event next summer and fall for the Dallas area. We are looking at both the opportunity to put on another one day combine as well as a 2 - 3 day select team tournament.

We had former MLB pitcher Steve Karsay (Yankees, Indians, A’s) and a professional scout from the Pirates take 15 - 20 minutes after the event to personally address the players about the keys to taking their game to the next level and what professional scouts are looking for and more.

The staff felt it was really great for the players to get to experience that type of insight. The parents that we talked to thought it was a great experience as well. We were able to get some excellent video footage of the players, sometimes we were shooting from 3 different camera angles.

We also had full control of their 20ft X 20ft Jumbo Vision screen in LF and had SPORTSTV video footage rotating from the MLB spring training interviews, California HS baseball showcase coverage, more MLB interviews (Devil Rays, Padres, Astros), and an NFL interview with Junior Seau.

We also had the ability to announce each player before they would pitch, hit, field or perform any set of skills on the field.

I invite anyone who was at the event or heard about the event to please provide feedback on the event. We are interested in putting on the best possible events.

Thanks,

Andrew Beinbrink
SPORTSTV Combine Director

Please send testimonials on the event to combines@thesportstv.com and please state your name, high school team, etc..
