I just saw a nice piece about Almonte on SportsCenter. They said he wants to pitch in the majors. He throws 88-91 on the gun with good movement. They said he will only be a late round draft pick though.

Yeah I don't know why he wasn't going to prctice. I think to move to NYC is good. He needs to stay away from his dad. He seems to only cause trouble and could have been the reason he didn't go to practice.
The coach was remarkably candid with his opinion of Danny. It was surprising that a coach would trash a kid on national TV.
That particular coach may have had an agenda. Almonte was supposed to go to the HS that the two coaches are the coach of. hmmmmm Now they have lost their starter.

Is Almonte good then? I know that is kind of a dumb question but how is he doing in his league? If he can't handle a schedule of HS practices, how will he be able to take the rigors of pro ball? I want to see Danny succeed though, because the whole situation of Little League, in my opinion, wasn't completely his fault. His dad told him not to worry about it, so he didn't until he got caught. Has he ever said anything about his thoughts on the past situation?
