If I remember correctly, Davidson is not a fully funded baseball program; therefore, there are not many baseball scholarships available. Plus, I was told that it is very difficult to get much academic money due to the academic excellence demonstrated by the general student body. With that being said, I was impressed with the coach and the school. It is one beautiful place that offers a great education.
My son has camped at Davidson quite a few times and I am very impressed with Coach Cooke. He has quite a resume and is a very good baseball person. Has always been very personable also. They recently had a much needed upgrade in facilities. I do not believe they are fully funded in baseball scholarships (may not give out any) however, after the player is in school, they are eligible for athletic money based on athletic impact and academics.
Admittedly, I don't know much about the ball program, but academics are TOP NOTCH--as in one of the top 10 ten Liberal Arts institutions in the nation. Very high admissions standards/competition (about 24% of applicants gain admission.) Less than 2000 students. I'd be thrilled if my son got his undergrad education at Davidson.
