My team has started our long toss program as we are into the offseason now. Last year I had a gun and I felt great during and after long toss... but recently my arm doesn't fell good during longtoss, no pain or anything just the arm feels tight and I can't air it out. We stretch and warmup and all that stuff, so am I doing something wrong or what can I do to fix this because this I getting old fast.

It may be that your arm is just tired and needs a vacation for 2 to 4 weeks especially if you are saying that you have no pain---you might even want to visit a ortho doc and a PT guy and just make sure that all is ok and if that is the case just get into some light PT exercises which you can do at home
Stay positive! Even pros go through bouts where their arm just doesn't feel right throughout the course of a year. It's better now than during the season, right?

Sometimes taking a little time off helps. Sometimes it also helps just to completely mix up some of your training routines: add some cross training, add some agility training, change up your conditioning program (add more short sprints, for instance), etc. All these things used to work for me.

Like you, my "dead arm" usually occurred this time of year. But what's great is that because it's the off-season, you may have a little more time to take the time to train differently ... to get your arm out of its funk!

Keep us posted on your progress. I expect you'll be back to normal in no time.
Thanks for some of the responses, I told the coach my arm hurt today (which it didn't) just to get some extra time away, but he did have me do some band work which is the throwers 10 stuff. We did some running, which we do nearly everyday, and afterwards the arm felt loose but I still didn't toss. We now have a four-day weekend due to the end of the grading period, so thats some good time. I'll use your recommendations and post back with the next time I "get after it" not just getting the arm warm... Thank you
