Thanks, that is what I thought.

Actually, Lee and Wilson put some pretty good swings on the ball. Vlad did hurt them defensively...

The question is when they go to Texas, who will have a bigger effective DH coming off the bench and taking out the pitcher's ab.

Others had commented on other threads, should both leagues go to DH or no DH, just a thought.

It's a much "purer" game without the DH. Wasn't it implemented to "boost offense" and thus, fan interest. Baseball was thought to be too boring, the games too long with too little happening (this describes S****r to me).

I like the fact that the Pitcher has an opportunity to help himself if he's hitting (or not). Would it be ok to have a DS (Designated Shooter) in the NBA? Sure Larry Bird could have squeezed a few more years into his career but the rule changes necessary to implement it changes the game... I don't like the concept.
According to Charles O. Finley, the primary reason for his proposal(DH) was specifically to increase ticket sales. By any relevant measure, it failed.

Since then, and having the luxury of hindsight, many other "justifications" have been created. Nevertheless, the DH never met it's original goal. Time to admit failure and bring back the game to the AL.

It is silly to have a pitcher not hit for several of years and just have them come out as a meaningless ab and to force a pitching change later in the game due to a pitcher coming up.

High School will never drop it. It aligns too closely with their goal of inceasing participation, especially since it is not restricted to the pitcher.

The DH had no business ever being put into MLB and should be removed permanently. As much as I think Cornelius McGillicuddy (aka Connie Mack) was a great manager, I wish he never came up with the idea.

As Crash Davis said in the movie Bull Durham, "I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter."
