DH reentry question

I know there was something about this in a different post but I wat to clarify my exact situation. DH, who is hitting for #8, enters the game therefore the fielder comes out and the DH is dead. DH walks and the umpire allows #8 to now come in an run for the original DH who is now in the game. Is this legal?

Yes, and #8 has used up his reentry, and DH still has a reentry.

As cyclone said, yes it is. Think of both the DH and the player he is batting for as starters that both have reentry rights.
