I realize most of you on the east coast were asleep last night when the Arizona Diamondbacks won the NL western division against the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants at approx. 9:15 pm west coast time.
Being in attendance was a great thrill for FuturecoachJosh and myself. Very exciting game.
At the beginning of the season there were plenty of 'experts' who said the D-backs would not stand a chance to win the division against the Giants including plenty on this board. I have to admit I was one of them, but I'm really glad I was wrong There were many Giants fans at the game last night...and lots of sad faces walking out of the stadium.
Congrats to all the players including their new GM Kevin Towers, Manager Kirk Gibson (my personal hero from the 1988 WS), coaches and all the front office, player development, scouts and other crucial personnel who made this year one to remember for the fans...
