Did Anyone get this e-mail from Baseball America?

BA has a data base on there site thats available to all MLB and College Recruitors.
The info used to come from PG to BA.
Not sure now how it works now.

I got an email like that as well. They want the information to see who signed with who. They are going to compile the information to rank who got the best class coming in based on who got who and where they have them ranked.

No. It has nothing to do with PG. I have a good friend that works for BA they are based out of my home town in Durham NC. I called him. He said they wanted it because they wanted to know who signed with who. They are probaly going to put a list of the signed guys on BA. And they were going to look at who signed with who to base their rankings for the colleges. They do have a top 300 list for the 08 class. Thats as high as theirs goes right now. If you pm me with your sons name I can check to see if he is listed in their top 300 if you want me to.

Baseball America used to get their youth information from Perfect Game, but I have been told they teamed up with Baseball Factory/Team One for their information and rankings. Their database is not as extensive as in the past.

I was looking for who had committed today and Baseball America had not published a list as of today, so As Coach May indicates, they are most likely trying to get the information from the families.

The BA Prospect Plus is similar to Perfect Games' Crosschecker data base of youth players.

I used to have access to Prospect Plus, but it had not updated anything for the players I was following since they were freshman. The PG Crosschecker was pretty active until he graduated.

Perfect Game had their listing up for verbals to colleges for awhile.

BA does scout WWBA events and PG National events. They also scout HS. They rely on professional scouts as well for getting information on players. Prospects Plus is their version of PG Crosschecker. BA has a top 08 300 list. PG Crosschecker has a top 1,000 list for the 08 class. BA teamed up with the Baseball Factory / Under Armor awhile back. I subscribe to both BA Prospects Plus and PG Crosschecker because I love to keep up with this kind of stuff. Both do a very good job imo. PG Crosschecker imo continues to get better and better.

So, just out of curiosity, if a player signs with a D-1 college and does not appear on any of the website lists, what exactly does that mean?

it means they don't know your email addy,

but since early signing was just over yesterday complete lists don't exist yet

if you're concerned drop them a note, they probably have a email contact for that type of info

Bee is correct as usual. They dont have your email address. Just go to their website and send Alan Matthews an email. Give him your name school you signed with and a contact persons name that can confirm the signing. Its not big deal anyway. They are trying to compile stats.
