Had the deer been eating the roses, it might have been venison sausage on the BBQ this weekend... Smile

We use CA cheese in the school lunch program and use the good WI stuff to clog arteries

( standing in cute ruffly apron with flour & egg on face )

Of course I meant that for every bonus civility kindness point,..you get a brownie!...why?

Is there another kind?
( No no nooo,...thats called " the brown nosed bonus point system "...not what I was going-for at all!)

Read below:...and I quote, ( hand on hips, highlighter in hand.)

I was going to suggest a bonus brownie point system
( I'd be glad to bake em'!!) for exceptional civility and tolerance of others.

Yeap,...most definately the baked kind!
Think FBM's pic above,...only add about a half inch of thick & gooie, mouth watering, chocolate frosting on top,...and for the kicker', garnish with a few multi-colored sprinkles! Big Grin

Happy posting,...and bon appetite!!

I'm just starting my 2nd cup and read catcher09's post - "Just saw SSMoms..." and thought Hey I didn't post here! Smile lol. I should finish my coffee first maybe?

If y'all don't mind a rookie's pov. I've been reading for a while, I have posters I take with a grain of salt and topics I will not comment on. This is a great dynamic site. I've learned so much, but I don't post so much because I don't always feel like I have much to offer. When I have posted on opinionated threads, no one ever made me feel unwelcomed. In fact, just the opposite. So, imo, there is a high level respect on this board. Rookies need to show respect too.

I understand that when people give bad advice someone needs to speak up. Even I've read some things recently that has me asking, "World Taekwando Federation". imo, issues have been handled well. I kinda get a kick out of some threads too.
This is the most civil board I've ever seen. I remember how I started though. I rubbed the House Mother/TPM (I mean house mother in the nicest way possible) the wrong way with something I stated. She reponded ticking me off in a PM. I PM'ed her back with a full serving of pie in the face. I believe it was a grenade pie. I pulled the pin before serving. I figured this board was like all the rest. We've since made up. Even though I knew we were OK from public exchanges I sent a PM apology.

I was really surprised when someone insulted my son without knowing anything about him a couple of days ago. Of course, I reverted to normal board mentality and smacked back (both posts were deleted). My insult was better. Smile

There has to be room for disagreement. On a board lacking human interaction, tone and facial inflection there's always going to be room for misinterpretation of meaning. But for the most part, this board is great.

You bumped This! Red Face - I have been reading all 4 pages of this stuff thinking it was all posted today and wondering what the heck you all did for a living that gave you all that free time to post! Roll Eyes

IMO - Its the tamest this site has been since its inception.

And thats a good thing IMO.

I think - every year - we get some new posters that havent been around that long - and they get into some discussions/arguments - and then the posts arrive about how "nasty" this site has become.

IMO - The truth is - the site becomes more civil every year. That's a testament to the moderators.

Are they perfect - No.
But they do a great job.

And they will never be able to stop - nor should they - the newbies complaining when others dont agree with them either indirectly or very directly.

For me - its as calm as I have ever seen it this time of year.
As a newbie to this message board (and someone with thickskin who can take it and dish it out) I apprfeiate some of the "suggestins" that I got as far as our situation was concerned. IT is nice to know that there are many out there who have much more experience in this baseball journey than I have and who can give me a dose of reality and humility within a few hours of airing the situation.
08Dad,
Thanks for bringing this up, so that those that have just come here realize that this is what happens when you have been baseball deprived!

John,
If you stick around long enough, in a few short years you will be giving the same advice you received, regardless of whether you liked it or not, the reality is we've all been through it and learning from others might be a contributing factor in your son's future success!
