Anyone ever had problem  where  several parents on team dislike coach(usu because son is not playing much) and you like coach?  I try to stay away from drama, and not get drawn into negative conversations that I hear in stands. They are wanting someone to agree with them, and honestly I feel just the opposite.  Coach is not perfect, but imo he gets on boys when needed.

think maybe I should roam diff positions around field during games.

I dealt with this for three years in high school baseball. The high school coach had some serious personality flaws. He pulled some head scratchers with the lineup. But he always had it right by the third or fourth game. He was the most conservative third base coach I've ever seen. But the team went from a perennial loser to a second and two conference titles while my son was there. Since I was a successful 16u travel coach parents would run to me and asked my opinion. My only response was, "There are usually multiple options for most situations. A coach makes choices based on his coaching style." If a parent continued I told them I wanted to watch the game or moved. I never sat in the stands. What I never said was, "If I were coach the team's winning percentage in one run games would be better." I often thought it.

Funny thing is the dumbest comments I have heard this year about coaching have come from the father of a kid who is not only a starter, but arguably the most talented and toolsy player on the team.

I think the question is usually if anyone ever hasn't had at least a few of those parents... somewhat  the nature of the beast.

I definitely see the point Coach and soulslam make but I usually don't mind that chatter.  I like watching ballgames in good seats too much and I won't be displaced because of a bit of biased diatribe.  If I'm a spectator and I'm just hearing the usual direct or thinly veiled "my kid is getting screwed", I just chalk it up to part of the entertainment of a ballgame.  If asked my opinion, I usually can't help but take the opportunity to offer up possible counter-perspectives a coach may have and that he's the one that sees the players at work every day.  If what is being said crosses the line and is rude to other kids or parents, I'll usually speak up and tell them so.  That doesn't happen very often though.

If you think a guy is way off base, don't be afraid to share your opposing opinion.  It will likely be the last you will have to hear from him directly.
