FED: this is the internet shorthand for NFHS(High School) It is used for almost all high school games except for two states. AAU and a few others youth organizations use Fed as their rule set.
NCAA: all NCAA college games.
NAIA: another college system that is lesser known.
OBR: Official Baseball Rules These are the rules for Major League Baseball. Many youth organizations use some version of these rules. PONY uses straight OBR with a seperate age approperate rule book. Little League, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken and Dixie Baseball all use OBR as a basis with their added rules laid over the OBR. Sometimes it can cause confusion. Minor League Baseball has their version of OBR with a few minor changes.
These are the major ones that you need to worry about. Always check with your league or umpiring group so you know the rules you are using.
MST has filled in the rule book issues, but on here you may see some other names mentioned.

Those are usually authors of official interpretations of baseball rules.... Umpiring can not be done at higher levels with just the rule book alone....there are these suplemental books and also books on mechanics to help shape your game.......

Hopkins: B. Elliott Hopkins (NFHS rules Interpreter)
Evans: Jim Evans Former MLB umpire, current owner of the Academy of Professional Umpiring (MLB school)
Jaksa/Roder: An Umpire manual with rules interps written by Chris Jaksa and Rick Roder...

there are others, but those are the best known....
