Three Bagger,
What an accomplishment.
Coming through the loser's bracket in an 8 team Regional is about as tough as it gets in college baseball, in my opinion. Physically, emotionally, and mentally, it is "grinding" as the highest level of difficulty.
Not many college teams get this done, for sure.
Marietta did it this year in the DIII Regional(for those of us who follow it Wink .)
Your son and his teammates laid it all on the line.
Underneath all that talent, there has to be huge hearts and wonderful leadership.
I sure hope you get to Cary!!!!!!
Thank you guys so much! I am just on Cloud Nine right now. Our son called and he sounded so happy! This is what its all about whether it's DI, DII, DIII, Juco, or NAIA! It was our coaches 700th career victory also.

Ironically, the first team we play is St Mary's out of San Antonio which is 105 miles from our home. We played many travel ball tournaments on their campus!
Congrats guys. Your going to love the USA complex in Cary. The facility is tremendous. The playing surface is as good as you can play on. And you better have some guys who can really cover ground in the OF because its huge and the ball simply doesn't fly out of that park. But its a great venue and facility worthy of hosting champions.

Cary is a nice town your going to be located right in the middle of Raleigh, Durham and only a few minutes from Chapel Hill. ThreeBagger I hope you can make it. Catfish congrats that was an amazing run by a great group of young men. I got the chance to meet several of your parents, grand parents and followers at the regional. They were super nice people. Congrats

Thanks so much, Coach Merc. Your son is an outstanding shortstop. I'm glad he found a place that made him happy. Never imagined our guys would bounce back and beat four Top 10 teams over three days, but that's the game of baseball for you. Hope the fellows can keep it going for the Southeast in Cary.
Thanks again to all for the kind wishes. When my son chose Delta State as a seventeen year old early in his senior year, he did it because he knew that this school was his best chance to make a trip to the College World Series. The winning tradition, the winning coach and a school that spares no expense for it's baseball team was there and we saw it on our official visit. Sometimes I wished he wasn't so far away and I could attend more games but that was the price we paid for the chance at this experience that is coming to pass.

Thanks, Coach May. I loved watching all of those teams play the game hard and do things the right way. And I thought the coolest moment of the tournament was the breath-taking ninth-inning blast off the lights the Lander kid hit against Mount Olive. After watching those coaches take Belmont Abbey to the D2 CWS in 2009, I knew they would do good things in Greenwood. We are certainly looking forward to our trip to Cary.
