Any early predictions, or discussion on this district? What HSBBW posters have kids in this district?

My take:

- Carrollton Newman Smith has to be the early favorite.

- Lake Highlands probably #2 out of the gate.

- Dont know much about Jesuit but for whatever reason (not based on any actual facts) i think Jesuit graduated some key seniors and may not be as good as last year(?), but they are my #3 until they prove otherwise.

- After that I think Berkner, Pearce, Creekview, Richardson, and RL Turner could all be grouped in the "rest of the pack" category...

My Early Berkner Notes:

The Rams had a fundraiser/marathon game on Saturday - great weather, great way to kick off the upcoming season. I had the opportunity to see the team for the first time this year...

1. Should show a definite improvement over last year. (Last year was a tough one for us).

2. Coach in his second year. This should help.

3. Starting line-up made up mostly of seniors and juniors.

4. Hitting should be very good against average pitching. Saw a lot of power yesterday. More power than I have seen at Berkner since I have been watching Berkner (since about 2002). Dominant pitchers will likely still be dominant against us.

5. Average to above average team speed.

6. Defense - to be determined.

7. Pitching. One pitcher should do well (Frank Phillips early signee). Pre season games and tournaments probably needed to establish a #2 and #3.
Carrollton Creekview might be a sleeper in the 'pack'... Although they lost a starting pitcher to Newman Smith (inter-district transfer), they have a solid returning nucleus, and a fr better 'chemistry' than their 2005 squad.

Watch for Seniors Jason Diemer, Jonathan Dallalio and Aaron Lowery, and Sophomore Catcher Bryan Fischer (2005 Distict Freshman of the Year).
