I am apprehensively looking forward to the announcement; there are apparently three scenarios for District 5A-4. The first has the western schools (Weatherford, et. al.) moving into a district with the Abilene and San Angelo area schools, the second has Weatherford, Justin NW, Burleson, Granbury, Paschal and North Crowley in a six team district, the third has no changes other than Mansfield Timberview replacing Boswell (who would drop to 4A)

Weatherford to Abilene and back is a long haul for a weekday game…

Well I do not mind the alignments, but you would think with the high costs of fuel and ever tightening school budgets the collective minds that do the redistricting could adjust for less distance where possible.

We are in 2a and I was looking at the way they have it done and it is almost like someone was throwing darts with a blindfold on. Ok here goes, my blindfold is tight.... pull_hair We'll put them with that group.

When fuel was not an issue and the budgets were not so tight, it was not so bad to drive half way across the state, but now to even drive a 100 miles takes away from the schools.

Shell Oil will be dissapointed to hear that those of us on the western edge of the world will not be traveling to Abilene and San Angelo as we once feared. Now I can stop scouring the internet for a hybrid diesel/electric truck!!!

4-5A remained unchanged with the exception of Mansfield Timberview in lieu of Boswell.

Well, putting Plano, Allen, and Wylie with the Richardson schools makes the most sense from a travel/economic sense. They did good in this instance.

Yes that is true, there are some that show some kind of thought to the process, however a whole lot of them show they either got bored, were in a hurry, just did not care, or it is all by chance. rotlaugh

See ya next year. Gonna be a tough baseball district. Glad to see Denton Ryan move on though, they will be TOUGH to beat in most sports in 4A
KD,

I actually am looking forward to the baseball aspects...extremely tough, but very good competition. The teams that gain playoff berths in this district should be playoff ready!

One thing about it...the travel costs should be minimal compared to this year for us! walk

Agree on Denton Ryan....throw Fossil Ridge in there also. Both will be 4A beasts. bear1
