We had our tryouts and draft on Friday night. The temperature was in the Low 70's. It really felt like baseball season.
It was great seeing the boys again and meeting the new boys moving up. I have 5 returning players and 4 of them played on my fall travel team. The rest of our travel team is spread out across the league. I think we did pretty well in the draft, but we'll see what we have next week at our first practice.
We will be hosting the State Championship at our facilities this year which will be a nice change.
I'm also proud to say that two boys from our travel organization made JV this year as 7th graders! Both boys are big and strong and exceptional ball players.
My 12U son Boomer is now 5'5" and 136lbs. My older son threw him a bucket of balls (about 40) for the first time last week since the fall travel season and he took 23 out! These short 210' fences are going to be a blast.
