This is a great article on this young man. It really puts things in perspective about the real game of life! Makes you think about how lucky we really are to be able to watch our kids play High School Varsity Sports or any type of sports for that matter....

I have never seen a happier kid and family than the one I witnessed...all while he was getting thrown out on a routine play at first.

Earlier this season, Richardson was playing Skyline at their place and late in the game a player eagerly came to the plate with one of the biggest smiles I have ever seen.

After a few awkward cuts, he put the ball in play to the second baseman and he casually jogged down the line to first base. After an easy 4-3 play, he crossed 1st base, and high fived the 1st base coach. He then continued to the dugout with the same simle he had earlier. What happened next was confusing...the ENTIRE Skyline team came out to greet him with high-fives and hugs. Finally, he approached the fence and put his hand to the hand of a crying woman, his mother.

Later i realized what I had just seen. That young man was Earl Anderew Jones, whom Kevin Sheridan did a wonderful job writing about.

When I look at situations like the one above, I relish the time we have left on the field, knowing the end of our playoff run will come eventually. For Andrew, I assure you I will NEVER forget the look on his face, while getting thrown out at first.
