My son attended a PG Indoor pitcher/catcher showcase around this time of year when he was a junior in HS. That was 4 years ago so it is possible that it has changed, but hitting was optional for pitchers. I think they needed to contact Perfect Game in advance to request to be put on the hitting schedule. My son did hit, and he enjoyed facing Ryan Sweeney (now with the White Sox as a CF, but he was a darn good pitcher in HS). Sweeney won that battle, LOL!
From your screen name, I'm guessing your son is a junior this year. I hope he enjoys the showcase - mine sure did!
