Do college coach's show up to any particular PG showcases?  Do any of you have any experiences seeing college coach's at the May/June PG Sunshine or PG Academic showcases?

My 2018 attended the PG Midwest Underclass the past August.  We understood it was a format for him to document his measurable's by a 3rd party (PG) and get him into the PG system so his progress can be shown when he attends the next PG showcase.  We didn't know if college coach's show up at the event or simply use the PG database and filter system to develop their watch list.

Are there preferred PG showcases that the college coach's actually show up?  Assuming a player has something to really show it could influence waiting for a nearby PG showcase to get his skills documented again.

Curious on personal experiences and observations by players and parents that have attended the PG Sunshine or PG Academic, or anyone that has knowledge on which PG showcases college coach's show up to.  I'm aware the high profile PG tourney's are a different type of venue attracting college coach's.

Always a bit of overlap with subjects, trying to learn more from you all.  Thanks.

My 2012 did the PG National Academic / Sunshine showcase.  There were a number of high academic schools represented, though significantly fewer than a Headfirst Showcase (the best high academic showcase in my opinion) or to a lesser extent, a Top96 event or the Stanford All Star or Future Stars camps.

PG National Academic was very well run.  Lots of talented players.  For my player, the primary benefit was getting a third party assessment of his abilities.  That PG Rating was highly respected by every college coach.  Those coaches in attendance could make their own first hand assessments, supplemented by PG's.  But the many coaches on my son's list who weren't in attendance greatly valued PG's rating and commentary.

Our experience was identical to that of Branson Baseball (in terms of where we went and with what purpose and schools in attendance).  My 2016 son attended PG Academic in June after freshman year of HS (early - he was one of about 15 or so out of about 130 total who were rising sophomores - but it made sense for him given his size/projectability and he had the "nothing to lose" attitude).  There were definitely coaches there (a few Ivy, Navy, Duke, etc...I would guess maybe 15 to 20 schools over two days...but that is just a guess).  But, the important thing was to get the feeback, measurables and rating from PG to "get him on the radar".  The number of college coaches at the big PG tournaments totally dwarfs the numbers at most showcases (save for National and Junior National events); presume the OP knows that but was not sure.  If you are looking at a high academic path and want to be seen by the most coaches (with less concern about a rating or write up), HF is where it is at. No question.

Son's PG showcases attended would have between 2-5 coaches, many not "scheduled" to attend or announced. As other posters said, PG tourneys bring in more coaches. If it's showcases you're looking at in terms of high numbers of coaches attending/scheduled,look at Headfirst (Academic), Showball (Megacamp) and then certain Top96s.
