Short answer. . .you ABSOLUTELY have a chance.

As a Freshman, you're still very young and your body is going to change a LOT over the next 5+ years even if you don't try to do much. You're going to grow bigger, stronger and smarter. And different people of your age grow and mature at different rates. So, there's no telling at this point just what you can achieve or not.

So. . .how badly do you REALLY want it? That's the question you need to ask yourself. And if you REALLY want it, then. . . how hard are you willing to work to get what you want? Are you ready to give up if you don't make the JV team or will that instead drive yourself even harder to be sure to make it when you're a Sophomore? If you have the drive, I feel anyone with just a little talent and a lot of hard work can get to the minors. And note too that not everyone who makes it to the minors does so through the draft.

So, if you have any real athletic talent at all, you will be able to improve a great deal. I've personally seen it happen with many guys who developed later in their youth. Think positive. Work hard. And please. . .try not to think too far ahead. Doing so tends to be very disastrous to an athlete. Stay in the now. ..think only about what you have to do now to get what you want.
