My son signed a LOI with an NAIA school in December, as well. I did some digging at the NAIA site before he signed. My understanding is that the NAIA doesn't administer a LOI/NLI program like the NCAA does. I don't know if some NAIA conferences do, but the GPAC (the conference of my son's school), doesn't seem to. The text on his letter looked like it was written by the college to which he was committing and from which he was getting a commitment.

rwulf is exactly right! The LOIs that NAIA schools sign are not enforced by the NAIA itself, but honored usually within particular conferences.

The "NLI" program that is the most publicized is within the NCAA, but enforced separate from the NCAA. JUCOs that are members of the NJCAA also have a NLI that they sign and is enforced, but it is separate from those of other divisions.
