Do You Believe In Magic?

Being in the holiday spirit, thought I would post this little tidbit from past coaching years. It kind of pertains to a few other threads. For the doubters... I can honestly say, I've seen this formula work well for many young people.

ABRACADABRA

Aim High
Build a strong fundamental foundation
Respect the game always
Act on your desire
Care much more than everyone else
Arm yourself with knowledge
Dream always, they can come true, but not by accident
Achieve consistent improvement
Believe you can do what's necessary
Realize that it won't be easy
Adjust to the pit falls

It's not really magic at all! It's not just about baseball either!

Those who follow "ABRACADABRA" will not allow others to keep them from being successful. If one dream ends, another takes it's place.

I hope everyone doesn't think I'm crazy.

EH:

I'd like to say he's pointing to the time and temperature, but alas, he's only pointing to five 'til one...I think.

Coach O:

I haven't heard these guys in decades...my what fun they were...I might dig them up again for a listen. I won't even need any enhancement now.

At age fifty two, I'm pretty much resigned to how off kilter I am...naturally off kilter...entirely unassisted. Scary huh?

May I offer you a Ma Rainey's wholesome moleskin cookie, a whole mole in every bite. You'll dig it!

Why thank you, woody, I will have one. And may I offer you some Venus Envy hairspray with accompanying self-blinding eye shadow?

And how can you be in two places at the same time when you're actually nowhere at all?

Yes, all part of my life's soundtrack.....

I did enjoy Our Rik in "The Young Ones", though nothing can top his Lord Flasheart in Blackadder. Always pictured Professor Lockhart in the second Harry Potter as Flasheart. Wonder if Rowling did as well, given the similiar names.

Did you know Rik was filmed as the ghost Peeves repeatedly for the Harry Potter movies but has yet to make a final cut?

Apparently, I have not grown up. Hooray, me! Big Grin
