My brother has had a couple calls in the last two weeks of Agents/Recruiting Reps wanting to represent him. Does anyone know if this would be a good idea or not to deal with these people? My brother is getting quite a bit of attention without the need of a Agent but I'm not sure if its a good idea to put these people on the back shelf. Has anyone had any experience with anything similar to this? Thanks.

PM bbscout. He may have some advice to give you.
First things first...you don't want to "hire" an agent, nor have an agent unless you want to lose your amateur status and forfeit college ball. What you want is an "adviser," which is what I assume these agents want to be for the time being.

All the answers after that depend on the real status of your brother. How good is he? How real is the possibility of him being drafted? How high? How committed is he to going to college?

The fact that they're calling would indicate he's probably pretty legit. So its likely something to think about. There used to be a link somewhere on here that explained it all, but I cannot find it right now.
