Last september 19 The dominican winter league (probably similar to level AAA)had their annual roockies draft. (dominican players that had play at least class A). Marcos was selected for Aguilas, a team that have in their roster players like: Miguel Tejada, Fausto Carmona, Tony Batista, Tony Pena, and lot of more Big leaguers.
Because Marcos was at instructional league(it finished Oct 10), he got to the Dominican on Oct 12 (only three practices and one excibition game left before season start on Oct 17) I don't know how happens but Marcos made the team and he is really excited. I don't know if he is going to play at least a game, but by sure will be a great experience to practice every day with those players and wearing the same uniform and being in the same dougout. I think will help him for spring trainning and next season. By the way, he got number 61. He says, he feel more like a football player because the high of the number on his back.
Faith is to believe what you don't see; The reward of this faith is to see what you believe.

Racab,

Your son is fast becoming a great story for those who want to learn what it takes. "It aint easy"

I'm pretty sure everyone here is pulling for him to make it to the top. I know I will be!

Young players like Marcos, itsinthegame's son, Orlando's son and the many others (too many to name) who post here renew my enjoyment and faith in baseball.

When people say that todays young players are all spoiled and soft... Those are people who never met kids like these. And there's a lot of them type kids out there. Unfortunately some lose focus and get lost along the way.

Congatulations, that is a HUGE achievement. BTW, my son played two years in the Dominican League. Loved the baseball, didn't like a lot of the other stuff.
