Yes it is early signing period and you have no deal---don't sweat it --it will come if you have done your homework and have the talent---with the new rules many schools, lower level D-I, D-II and D-III are sitting back to see what shakes out after the early signing period is done
Just keep plugging--apply to the schools you want--- get the SAT/ACT up--

Good luck--it ain't over yet

Thank you for posting this. My son is a pitcher (2009) and recently recovered from a stress fracture--thus missing this summer and fall. We have been told not to rush things and for him to just have a great spring--others have said to attend Christmas camps at the school where he is most interested--his question is "does that even make sense if the school has signed all their 2009 scholarships" He has also been told that every school looks for a pi†cher in the spring and for him not to worry. What is your opinion?
I too appreciate your post! Our son is a catcher (2009) that has also played a QB in football for the past few years. Unfortunately, he had a season ending football injury early this season and was unable to make the PG Top Prospect in Marietta as well as attending a camp invite from one ACC school. Our son is a bit frustrated that he has gone under the radar without any offers. However, he has been able to increase his SAT scores during his down time. One summer coach has told him to just be patient as the draft and the new rules could open up some spots/opportunities in the future. Interestingly, I had been speaking with another ACC recruiter that had some interest in my son this past summer and he told me the same thing.

Over the past few weeks our son has been training hard and working on hitting and long tosses preparing for his senior year. We will be attending several winter camps during the Christmas Holidays(one coach has requested him to attend) so it will be interesting what lies ahead.
