Does everyone do this? We've played a few Saturday doubleheaders and the home team's parents have supplied lunch for both teams.

I've never seen it. That's cool.

My dad has talked about schools having done that after playoff football games before. Both teams going into the cafeteria or whatever after the game and eating together..
.

Two weekends in a row the Riverside-Brookfield HS softball opponents provided lunch for players, coaches, and fans.

Last week was Timothy Christian HS in Elmhurst, IL and today it was Ridgewood HS in Norridge, IL.

Both are very classy organizations. The hospitality was very much appreciated. Our parents are now planning to reciprocate at upcoming doubleheaders.

Deerfield does it for all at home Sat. double headers inbetween games. They feed both teams all parents and anyone else in attendance. Even the umps! The fresh grilled onions are always a treat! In addition to hot dogs and burgers, they do BBQ Chicken and/ or fresh italian sausag (caputo market)

I have seen this done at Niles West. The year we played there, the grandson on Maurey Berman, owner of Superdawg was on the team, lunch was ALL GOOD!!!

I have also seen it done at New Trier.

It is a nice effort on the part of all these teams

Here's an aerial view of our most recent lunch spread between games. This shot was taken from our booster club's "Bulldog One" which, when we're not flying a banner behind, we use for security and crowd control.

As you can see our lunch offering pretty much encompasses the entire baseball field, but remarkably our crack team of 250 or so volunteers (and no, they're not all from Tennessee) always has the equipment broken down and stored and the entire field policed before the umpire cries "Play ball!" at the start of game two.

And, in case you're wondering, when the game is over and the throng has exited our baseball field then becomes our airfield where "Bulldog One" and our backup plane "Bulldog Three" glide in for, hopefully, smooth landings. Where's "Bulldog Two"? Don't ask...just Google®.

Oh...and keeping with Chicago area standards...never ask for ketchup on your dog!
